Do you post across Australia, and what does postage cost?

Yes. The books post anywhere in Australia. Postage is $20 per order, and every extra book in the same order travels free. Ordering several copies at once? Send us a message before you order and we will work out the postage with you.

How long will my book take to arrive?

Your books post from Healesville, in Victoria's Yarra Valley. Every order leaves within 5 business days.

Do you post overseas?

Yes. We post overseas for $20 per book. Prices show in Australian dollars at checkout.

What if my book arrives damaged or faulty?

Send us a message with a photo within 7 days of delivery, and we'll send a replacement or refund you, postage included. We don't take change-of-mind returns. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.

Can I get a signed copy?

Yes, at no charge. After you order, send us a message with your order number and who the book is for, and it will be signed, with a dedication if you like.

Can I send a book straight to someone as a gift?

Yes. At checkout, give their name and address as the delivery address. One small thing worth knowing: these are big books, about the size of a vinyl record sleeve, so they will not fit through a letterbox slot. If it is a surprise, send it somewhere someone can take it in.

Which book should I give?

For someone who loves German Shepherds, German Shepherds of Australia, Volume One: over 200 of them, and it supports German Shepherd Rescue Victoria. For someone who loves dogs of every kind, any Shoot the Dog volume. Each one is its own collection of over 250 dogs and their families, so there is no wrong place to start.

My dog is in one of the books. Can I buy another copy?

Yes, while they last. German Shepherds of Australia, Volume One and Shoot the Dog, Volumes Two, Three and Four are all here. Shoot the Dog, Volume One has sold out.

How does buying a book help a rescue?

German Shepherds of Australia, Volume One supports German Shepherd Rescue Victoria with every copy sold, and has raised over $22,000 for the rescue so far. For Shoot the Dog, a share of the profit from the books goes to the rescue groups, on top of the $100 each family gave when their dog was photographed.

Which rescues have the books helped?

German Shepherd Rescue Victoria, through German Shepherds of Australia. Through Shoot the Dog: Save a Dog Scheme, German Shepherd Rescue Victoria, Amazing Greys, Pet Medical Crisis and Homes for Huskies Rescue Inc. Across the books, more than $100,000 has gone to Australian animal shelters, to care for sick, injured and displaced pets.

Can my dog be in the next book?

If you have a German Shepherd, yes: German Shepherds of Australia, Volume Two is being photographed now, for the final quarter of 2027. Each owner's $100 donation goes in full to German Shepherd Rescue Victoria. Registration is at germanshepherdsofaustralia.com.au/register-here.
